Telia Company AB (dahulunya TeliaSonera) ialah syarikat telefon dominan Sweden dan pengendali rangkaian mudah alih di Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia dan Estonia. Syarikat ini mempunyai operasi di negara-negara lain di Eropah Utara dan Timur, dan di Asia Tengah dan Asia Selatan, dengan sejumlah 182.1 juta pelanggan mudah alih (Q1, 2013). Ia beribu pejabat di Stockholm dan sahamnya didagangkan di Bursa Saham Stockholm dan di Bursa Saham Helsinki.

Sejarah[sunting | sunting sumber]

Telia Company dalam bentuk semasa mula ditubuhkan sebagai TeliaSonera, sebagai hasil daripada penggabungan 2002 di antara Sweden dan syarikat-syarikat telekomunikasi Finland, Telia dan Sonera. Penggabungan ini diikuti sejurus selepas percubaan penggabungan Telia gagal dengan syarikat telekomunikasi Norway Telenor, kini menjadi pesaing utama di negara-negara Nordik.

Sebelum penswastaan, Telia adalah monopoli telefon kerajaan. Sonera sebaliknya mempunyai monopoli hanya pada panggilan rangkaian batang, manakala kebanyakan (sekitar 75%) telekomunikasi tempatan disediakan oleh koperasi telefon. Jenama yang berasingan Telia dan Sonera terus digunakan di pasaran Sweden dan Finland masing-masing. Daripada saham itu, 37.3% dimiliki oleh kerajaan Sweden, dan sisanya oleh institusi, syarikat, dan pelabur swasta di seluruh dunia. Kerajaan Finland (melalui Solidium) mempunyai 3.2% saham, tetapi melupuskannya pada Februari 2018.

Syarikat Telia kini merupakan pengendali mudah alih, jalur lebar dan pengendali mudah alih Nordik dan Baltik terbesar oleh pendapatan dan pangkalan pelanggan. Ia beroperasi sebagai tulang belakang IP borong terbesar dan paling cepat berkembang di Eropah (AS1299) dan merupakan kumpulan mudah alih global ke-10 terbesar oleh pelanggan yang disatukan (termasuk kepunyaan pemilik dalam Turkcell,[5] Yoigo, Megafon, NetCom, dan lain-lain).[6]
